Kailash Overland Tour via Kerung takes you to the holy land of Mt. Kailash through the newly opened Nepal-Tibet border of Rasuwagadhi-Kerung drive through Langtang National Park  crossing sybrubensi where Tamang Heritage Trail  starts from too. The team of Adventure International will embark on a journey to take you to worship and hike around the sacred land of Mt. Kailash. Mt. Kailash tour also possible combine with Central Overland Tibet Tour  or Central Overland Lhasa Tour.

Since last 2017 Mt. Kailash tour start from Kerung Border instead of Kodari border. Kailash tour introduces orientation sightseeing by Kathmandu valley with guided tour. The guided holy mount Kailash tour will make your tour UNESCO listed world heritage sites of the Kathmandu valley. Next day early morning we will get ourselves inside the Langtang National Park and cross the Nepal-Tibet border to arrive at Kerung. From Kerung, we will drive to the villages of Saga, Mansarovar, and Darchen with great views of the sacred Mt. Kailash, Mt. Gurla-Mandala, Rakshash Lake and the Lake Mansarovar. The major attractions of this tour include the sacred peak of Kailash, Holy Lake of Mansarovar and the highest pass of Drolma La. 

Eighteen miles southeast of Kailash is the circular, turquoise Lake Mansarovar or Tso Rinpoche (precious lake) a 64-mile circuit, which is rarely completed except by the most devout. Bathing in the lake, or even dousing ones head with the holy water is said to be of enormous spiritual benefit to those who can brave the icy water which many claim contain miraculous powers. Hindus are told that complete immersion into the lake ensure they be reborn as a god.The Kailash Overland Tour takes 15 days for completion based on our default itinerary. The trip can be tailored to your preference. The best time to visit the holy Mt. Kailash is between May to August. Itinerary

  • 01Arrival in Kathmandu: 15 -20 Minutes drive. AIT representative will greet you at Tribhuvan International Airport and transport you to your Kathmandu hotel. After having formal introduction, you are being served with welcome drink at the hotel. They will give you helpful tips for your time in Kathmandu. O/N Hotel
  • 02Kathmandu sight-seeing tour & Trekking preparation. Today after breakfast we will start a guided tour to several major historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu. Some of these landmarks are considered World Heritage Sites; including the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambunath) and Buddhists shrine (Buddha Nath) which is one of the large Stupas in the world. After completed city tour In the afternoon, there will be a pre-trip discussion where we can meet our trek leader and other team members.   • 03Kathmandu -Kerung Border (160 Km) 06-07 hours drive 2750m. Kathmandu -Kerung Border (148 Km) 06-07 hours drive
    Early in the morning exicting drive to Kerung Border (Nepal-Tibet Border) through the beautiful Nepalese countryside and after necessary border formalities at Nepal immigration, an hour daring uphill drive by Bus & jeep(normally) or 2 hour walk uphill (in case of landslide to Chinese immigration, check-in to hotel or Continue drive to Kerung. Stay overnight at Guest House.
  • 04KERUNG TO SAGA After breakfast our journey start to Saga which is 06-08 hrs drive, 4050 m in elevation and over night in camp.
  • 05SAGA – PARAYANG: After early morning breakfast drive to Para yang, which is 06-07 hrs drive and over night in camp.
  • 06PARAYANG – MANASAROVAR: Early morning drive to Manasorovar which takes 4-5 hours drive, 4550m in elevation and over night in camp.
  • 07MANASAROVAR: Free day for excursion & acclimatization
  • 08MANASAROVAR – DARCHEN: Explore Lake Manasorovar in the morning and drive to Darchen which is 1 hour drive and, 4,560 m in elevation and over night in camp / G house.
  • 09DARCHEN – DIRAPUK: After early morning breakfast trek starts (The Kora begins) and after 5 – 6 hours trek to Dirapuk, 4,890 m in elevation and overnight in camp.
  • 10DIRAPUK – ZUTULPUK: Parikrama continuous to Zutulpuk which will takes approximately 08 hours, 4,790m in elevation and overnight in camp.
  • 11ZUTULPUK – DARCHEN – HORFE: End treks at Darchen and drive to Horfe and over night in camp.
  • 12HORFE – PARAYANG: Drive back to Parayang and over night in camp.
  • 13PARAYANG – SAGA: Drive to Saga and over night in camp.
  • 14SAGA – KERUNG-KATHMANDU Drive to KERUNG AND DRIVE ONWARD TO KATHMANDU FOR NIGHT
  • 15Departure: You could catch up on some last minute shopping, Internate to your friends and family before departure to Airport or onwards to your next destination.
